Cowboys Ex Subtly Calls Out Dak Prescott vs. Jalen Hurts Double Standard
A former Dallas Cowboy receiver hinted that observers may be taking it easy on Jalen Hurts.
As a member of the Los Angeles Chargers, Simi Fehoko is no longer involved in the Cowboys' ongoing rivalry with the Philadelphia Eagles, but offered some subtle shade at Hurts, the green franchise quarterback, in the wake of Monday's Week 15 closer.
Just before midnight on Monday, Fehoko declared that "the media doesn’t want to talk about INT’s this year," on X, formerly known as Twitter. He capped off the post with emojis depicting eye-rolling and shrugging, making his thoughts on the matter quite apparent despite the intended subtlety.
Fehoko didn't name names but the timing of the post (10:22 p.m. CT) doesn't make it hard to figure out what ... or who ... he's referring to. Around that time, the Eagles' Monday night tilt in Seattle more or less ended on a Hurts interception, giving the hosting Seahawks a chance to run out the clock and earn a crucial victory.
With that errant throw, Hurts has been charged with 12 interceptions this season, tied for the fourth-most in the league with the benched Mac Jones. Philadelphia (10-4) also dropped its third in a row with the 20-17 defeat and re-opened the chase for the NFC East, even with Dallas' listless showing in Buffalo just over 24 hours prior.
Fehoko's latter of two seasons with Dallas was marred by struggles from Prescott, who led the league with 15 aerial turnovers last year. Prescott has cleaned up his act this season, throwing only seven. He had gone four straight games without a toss to the other team before losing one to Christian Benford on Sunday in Orchard Park.
It's clear, however, that Fehoko doesn't believe that Hurts has faced similar scrutiny for his misfires. Of course, there's one way to truly ensure equally distributed criticism: winning. Prescott and the Cowboys' struggles to advance to the NFC title game are well-documented while Hurts and the Eagles repped the conference in last season's Super Bowl.

Prescott's next chance to prove himself lands on Sunday late afternoon when the Cowboys (10-4) battle the Miami Dolphins in South Beach (3:25 p.m. CT, Fox).
