Cowboys' Micah Parsons Reveals Ezekiel Elliott Prediction Shocker

Micah Parsons posts a bold claim after his former Dallas Cowboys teammate Ezekiel Elliott signs with the New England Patriots.

Former Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott signed with the New England Patriots on Monday, setting social media and national television ablaze with reactions.

Critics have denounced the one-year, $6 million deal, citing the current running back market and Elliott’s declining production and athleticism. Last season marked career worsts in yards per attempt and total yards, much to the ire of Cowboys fans.

Others stood in support of the former first-round pick and two-time NFL rushing champ. As Rhamondre Stevenson’s backup, there will be less pressure to put up big numbers while shouldering the burden of the offense. Instead, Zeke will likely see short-yardage carries that cater to his strengths as a runner.

No matter how bullish one’s expectations are for Zeke, his former teammates probably have them beat.

Superstar Micah Parsons took his reaction to the signing, and the new Zeke haircut, to Twitter. He would claim the ex-Cowboy would join a history-making club of only eight members.

"Zeke going for 2k yards!'' Micah tweeted in support. ... exhibiting once again his tendency toward hyperbole that in this case is quite charming.

Parsons’ optimism - rushing for 2,000 yards?! - may have unleashed an unrealistic expectation, but the support for Elliott is widespread throughout the locker room. Quarterback Dak Prescott celebrated the signing on Instagram.

“He’ll do great up there,” started head coach Mike McCarthy, before pointing to the Patriots style as beneficial for the running back.

The six-year, $90 million contract that Elliott signed back in 2019 did not work out as planned - because the plan was to have Zeke be a centerpiece of a Super Bowl champion. Sill, it has become abundantly clear that Elliott did not lose the respect of America’s team.

He will have a chance to reunite with his former teammates on Oct. 1, when New England visits Dallas. Expect a tribute video, a jersey swap, and all the theatrics - from Micah and more - that come with welcoming an old friend back home.
