Dallas Cowboys Ex Terrell Owens: 'I'm Being Blackballed' from NFL Comeback at Age 50

LAS VEGAS - Terrell Owens hasn't played in the NFL in 14 years. But the former Dallas Cowboys receiver and Hall of Famer doesn't think the reason for that has anything to to with his age (he's 50) or his controversially divisive personality (he has, you know, a controversially divisive personality).

Rather, T.O. believes he could still be a "viable option" for an NFL playoff team if not for the fact he is being "blackballed."

"They blackball you and they don't put your name in the good graces of a lot of organizations," the Owens said, comparing his situation to that of Colin Kaepernick, who the league has officially admitted to preventing his return to the NFL due to his social views. "And you see since 2018, you've seen guys with stats not even as great as mine get in on the first go-around. So that speaks volumes in itself."

There is no question that if it was just about "stats,'' Owens would be held in higher regard. And in this recent interview with USA Today, he asserts that he is still in good enough physical shape to be a situational receiver in the league.

And we believe that as well.

"It's all about the condition that you put yourself in," Owens said. "I've been able to take care of my body.''

One more honest concession from Owens: He's not saying he could be a full-time guy, like he last was way back in 2010, when he caught 72 balls for 983 yards and nine touchdowns with the Bengals at age 37.

But, he said, "When If you think about the playoffs, a lot of these games are won by third downs and obviously red-zone situations. Could I go out and play 70 snaps right now? Absolutely not. But I'd be a viable option if I were on the team, that's for sure."
