Cowboys Top-10 QB Situation? 'No Concerns’ with Dak & Rush

Can Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott bounce back from a down year in 2022?

Last season was one to forget for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

Following a bounce-back 2021 campaign - tossing 37 touchdowns and just 10 interceptions - the eighth-year quarterback did not have the same level of success in 2022. After leading the league in interceptions while playing just 12 games, Prescott enters this new season with a new play-caller and surrounding corps.

Yardbarker recently ranked the “quarterback situation” of all 32 teams, with Prescott and Co. coming in at the No. 9 spot.

"Dak Prescott has not reached the heights [Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson] has, but the Cowboys have no concerns about their 2023 quarterback's roster status," Yardbarker writes. "Prescott led the league in INTs, despite missing five games, but again quarterbacked the Cowboys to the postseason -- before slicing up a top-10 Buccaneers defense."

The quarterback room of Prescott and backup Cooper Rush came in just below the group led by Jackson (the NFL's 2019 MVP) and Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins’ group. And while Dak - the 2016 fourth-round pick - has not won the league's most prestigious award as the Ravens signal-caller has, the two currently share the same amount of playoff wins (one) and Pro Bowl nods (two).

"Dallas (is)  equipped … with Brandin Cooks, CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup and Tony Pollard -- and brought back Rush, after the six-year Dak backup kept the team afloat during Prescott's thumb-driven absence,” Yardbarker notes.

Now with a revamped offense, including head coach Mike McCarthy taking over play-calling duties, Prescott has the opportunity to jump a few spots by this time next year. … Cowboys Nation hopes with “no concerns.”
