Dallas Cowboys Win Over Philadelphia Eagles, Predicts ESPN Computer
FRISCO - How many times is the defending NFC champion boasting a 10-2 record roll into a game as an underdog?
Welcome to AT&T Stadium, Philadelphia Eagles.
The Dallas Cowboys are 3.5-point favorites to defeat the Eagles on "Sunday Night Football,'' and the "ESPN computer'' (whatever that is!) also likes "America's Team'' to prevail.
According to ESPN's Matchup Predictor, the Cowboys have a 65.3-percent chance of winning the big Week 14 home matchup.
What's been fed into the computer to cause it to "think'' (for lack of a better word) that?
Maybe the San Francisco 49ers having earned a dominant 42-19 victory at Lincoln Financial Field.
Maybe the closeness of the Eagles' clutch/lucky wins before that outing, as they won those four games by a combined 19 points, which includes a tight 28-23 home victory over Dallas. (Indeed, Philly's point differential of +41 is less than sterling.)
Maybe it's the fact that Dallas has an NFL-high +168 scoring margin - and no, the Cowboys do not deserve to be penalized for doing that against inferior foes, because at the end of the year, the Cowboys and Eagles will both have played largely the same schedule ... and Philly will likely never be able to match that margin.
Maybe it's the hot hand Dak Prescott, who is continuing his MVP campaign by pushing Dallas to a 6-1 record in its last seven games with his 21:2 TD:INT ratio ... or the fact that Dallas with Dak at QB is 30-8 lifetime inside the NFC East ... or the fact that Dallas has 14 straight home wins and five straight home wins over the Eagles specifically.

Prescott said this week that "this is when the real football begins,'' downplaying his 9-3 team's accomplishments. "That's why, a couple weeks ago, I said I haven't done anything. This team hasn't done anything, in a sense."
But on Sunday night? A Cowboys win over the Eagles with first place in the NFC East with the conference's No. 1 seed alll at stake. That would be something - and the computer says that's what's going to happen.
