DaRon Bland Touted By Dallas Cowboys As All-Pro & NFL Defensive Player of the Year -'No Question!' Says Micah Parsons

The Playmaking "Pick-6'' Cornerback DaRon Bland Is Touted By His Dallas Cowboys As An All-Pro & The NFL Defensive Player of the Year -'No Question!' Says Teammate Micah Parsons

Last week, it was CeeDee Lamb making Dallas Cowboys history, and this week, it is DaRon Bland tying it as he grabbed his fourth pick-6 of the season in Dallas' 33-10 win over the Carolina Panthers.

Bland has stepped in and covered for the injured Trevon Diggs, and the second-year cornerback hasn't missed a beat. He now has six interceptions on the season, with four of them being returned for scores.

Such has been his play this season; Micah Parsons thinks some end-of-year awards should be in Bland's sights.

Said Parsons: “Seeing him coming to his own is truly special, remarkable. He's having a Defensive Player of the Year [season];  should be a lock for All-Pro. It shouldn't be a question for the accolades he should be picking up he's on a remarkable, unbelievable run right now.''

Bland's stats now make for impressive reading. In just 27 games (16 starts), he has 11 interceptions and shows no signs of slowing down.

One could forgive Bland for being rather pleased with himself after his impressive start to his career, but that isn't the type of person he is.

“You kind of got a force 'DB' to talk to you," Parsons said. "He's definitely a comfort guy, he's a quiet one, but you know he warms up as he gets to know you and talk to you. I just got him to start playing in Call of Duty with me, so that says lots.”

When Diggs went down for the season, many were unsure how the Cowboys could cover the loss of their All-Pro cornerback. Well, Bland has stepped up and is producing at an absurd level.

But is Bland in All-Pro and Defensive Player of the Year calculations? He has to at least be in the conversation. And as far as wanting to break the NFL record?

"I tied the record, now, my mindset, I'm level-headed, now I'm trying to go break it," Bland said.
