Cowboys Nation: Do NOT Remember Ezekiel Elliott This Way VIDEO
FRISCO - Does Ezekiel Elliott deserve more money, more chances, more carries?
No, not necessarily.
But as the Dallas Cowboys map out his exit - he was informed on Wednesday that he’s been cut - does the two-time NFL rushing champ deserve anything at all?
Definitely, at least two things.
One, he deserves the respect of Cowboys Nation, especially from those who are calling him "washed.'' That's not accurate; more truthful is the bang for the buck on his pricy contract coinciding with the Dallas escape hatch built into that deal.
And two, he deserves to not be remembered by his involvement in what appears to be his final snap as a Cowboy.
The Divisional Round playoff game this season ended in a very embarrassing fashion for the Cowboys and for their running back Elliott. For reasons that coaches Mike McCarthy and Kellen Moore (who has moved to the Chargers) never really did explain, on the very last play with Dallas trailing, the Cowboys drew up a bizarre play that required Elliott to play the position of center.
And disaster ensued.
He has fame and fortune and maybe he'll play again for another NFL team. But ...
What does Zeke "deserve"? Not that. Please, anything but that.
