'Here! We! Go!' Dak Does It Again; Is Aaron Rodgers Right About Dallas Cowboys' Prescott as 'Favorite QB'?
Dak Prescott is always a magnet for criticism by virtue of being the Dallas Cowboys' quarterback, but lately, he has been proving his haters wrong. ... while gaining admirers like Aaron Rodgers.
Simply put, Prescott is playing the best football of his career this season and especially over the past month or so. After Week 12, the Cowboys star was either first or second in several major quarterback stats, including completion percentage (70 percent), passing touchdowns (23) and passer rating (107.4). With his recent string of excellent performances, Prescott has vaulted himself into the MVP conversation and currently has the third-best odds to win the award at +600, per FanDuel Sportsbook.
And after Thursday's dazzling display from Dak in a 41-35 win over Seattle? He's now the No. 2 MVP guy according to some sports books.
Amidst Prescott's MVP campaign, four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers took time to give his fellow signal-caller some due respect. During his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers, who is recovering from a torn Achilles tendon he suffered during his first game with the New York Jets, revealed that Prescott has caught his eye in the best way.
“He’s become one of my favorite quarterbacks to watch,” Rodgers said. “I’ve watched more football this year than any other year because in normal years you’re getting ready for games. I watch a lot more games than usual. And Tom had some comments about some of the mediocrity. And I just want to say Dak is not who he’s talking about.”
In particular, Rodgers admires the little details in Prescott's game. From his command at the line of scrimmage to his complete understanding of different play concepts, Prescott has full control of the Cowboys offense in Rodgers' eyes.
“I just love that he’s really playing the position,” Rodgers said. “What I mean by that is, I’m watching him make Ringo calls. So that’s protection adjustments against these crazy looks and picking things up. I’m watching him bring the tight end back in against zero pressure and throw an old concept we used to run for a touchdown to CeeDee Lamb in the back of the ends zone. I’m watching him use his cadence beautifully and get into this rhythmic “Here ... We ... Go”, using as a dummy sometimes doing it twice into like, other cadences.”

Coming from a quarterback as accomplished as Rodgers, those comments truly show just how impressive Prescott has been this season.
