Micah Praises GM Jerry Jones, Reveals Need for 'Big Nasty' Dallas Cowboys Roster Moves

FRISCO - Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones recently said he's about to "go "all in.'' Micah Parsons responded with a subtle criticism of how the Dallas front office didn't "go out.''

And now it seems we have a meeting of the minds, as Parsons is revealing details of a lengthy visit he had with the team owner in Las Vegas during the Superr Bowl - inside a suite at Allegiant Stadium as the Chiefs were beating the 49ers in OT - regarding "the future of our team.''

Jerry and Micah

The big focus was on personnel, Parsons said in a visit with Stephen A. Smith.

Parsons said that after he and his "homeboys'' were given suite tickets by Jones, he spoke to the owner during the Super Bowl “about players I want to bring in, players I want to be around, who do I need, who do I want to be with, future of our team.”

Parsons even name-dropped, citing impact defensive linemen like like the Chiefs' Chris Jones and the Niners' Javon Hargrave. And more with the specifics ...

"I said, 'Look at every team that was in that final four,” Parsons explained. “Who did they have? San Francisco, Detroit. Who did Baltimore have? A great linebacking corps, right? Who did San Fran have? Great linebacking corps. K.C. ... they came along. I said we need to get us another bigger linebacker ... (and) I said we need to get a super, 330(-pound) nasty interior. ...

"We need to get one of them big old, nasty, pass-rushing, get-going (guys)!”

Parsons mentioned the value of Dallas big-body Johnathan Hankins, who is a free agent the Cowboys would like to retain. But he also described the team's defensive front as "slim'' ... which figures as one reason this defense sometimes gets pushed around in the running game. (All of which results in NFL Draft projections for Dallas like this one.)

'Too Cruel'? Micah Defends Dak in Stephen A. Smith Debate

It is notable that Jones is lending an ear to Parsons; said Micah, "That’s just dope to have that type of feedback with an owner that loves to hear your ideas and what you think and where the team can be. Jerry’s been pretty amazing like that with my family and stuff like that.''

At the same time, Parsons was surely preaching to the choir here, as Jones, Mike McCarthy's coaching staff and Will McClay's personnel department are highly aware of the need for some "big nastiness'' in the D-line ... or as Jerry himself likes to term those kind of guys, a "war daddy.''
