Michael Irvin Reveals (Not) 'Shocking' Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers Prediction

SAN JOSE, Calif. - In what will absolutely serve as the least surprising thing about this weekend’s NFL faceoff as the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers are set to battle here in an NFC playoff rematch, Michael Irvin is predicting …

Well, you in Cowboys Nation already know, right? Do you even need to read on?

The 49ers, who have eliminated the Cowboys from the playoffs in each of the last two seasons, are going down on "Sunday Night Football'' here in Northern California, according to the "Playmaker'' Irvin - the legendary Cowboys icon and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Dallas "booster club president'' and now FS1 commentator.

Michael Irvin

Irvin gave his prediction for Sunday night's score on Friday's edition of "Undisputed,'' stating he believes the Cowboys will win 27-24 by kicking a late field goal to break a tie and to seal the deal.

If Irvin is right and his beloved Cowboys win? It would mean a great deal to Dallas, both in terms of the psychology and the standings.

The Philadelphia Eagles (who play against the Los Angeles Rams this weekend and the NFC West leader 49ers are both 4-0 heading into this Week 5, so 3-1 Dallas can join the party atop the conference with a win here - a game in which the Niners are by the way 3.5-point favorites - and take another step toward NFC playoff success of the sort the Cowboys have not in the last two years experienced against San Francisco.
