'On to Dallas!' New York Jets Reveal Plan for Cowboys After Aaron Rodgers Injury

Aaron Rodgers will miss the entire season for the Jets, who in Week 2 face another sort of challenge in their visit to the Cowboys.

FRISCO - The Aaron Rodgers hype is gone. ... and maybe so is his career with the New York Jets. But as cliche as it is, the phrase made famous by New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick rings true now for the Jets, who traded for Rodgers only to see him crumble to the ground early in Week 1 with a season-ending Achilles tear.

So, after the sobbing ends, what does Jets coach Robert Saleh have to say about the situation?

Following his Tuesday press conference confirmation that Rodgers would indeed miss the rest of the season, Saleh send a message to Jets fans - and to his own team - saying, “We're on to Dallas.''

It's cold and it's cruel and it's football. The Jets will turn over the reins of the offense to third-year quarterback Zach Wilson, at one time a prized first-round pick who hasn't yet panned out. They will do so on the heels of a 22-16 OT win on "Monday Night Football'' over the Buffalo Bills ... a key victory that they must now follow up on time and time again if they are to truly challenge in the AFC East.

"On to Dallas''? Yes, and the Dallas Cowboys do not represent a welcoming AT&T Stadium treat for Saleh and his team, as the Cowboys crushed the Giants 40-0 on Sunday night

What advantages do the 1-0 Jets have over the 1-0 Cowboys? Saleh and his staff are busy trying to unearth those. So are the Cowboys, as coach Mike McCarthy on Monday announced that Dallas has "turned the page'' on the win ... meaning the Cowboys are "on to the Jets.''
