Pro Bowl Voting: Can Dak Prescott Catch Brock Purdy?
The NFL 2023 Pro Bowl ballot is updating daily. ... and most notably, there has been a leaderboard swap at the NFC quarterback position - San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has now claimed the top slot in the voting polls over Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
The Cowboys' quarterback held the lead over Purdy for quite a few days prior. According to the oddsmakers, while the two star quarterbacks entered Week 14 of this season neck-and-neck in the Pro Bowl voting polls, at the conclusion of the weekend matchups, Prescott jumped ahead.
On Sunday, the Cowboys upset the Philadelphia Eagles, who were in the top slot of the NFC East division, 33-13 at AT&T Stadium. Prescott completed 24 of 39 pass attempts for a total of 271 yards. On top of that, he recorded two touchdowns and did not throw any picks.
However, on Wednesday the favorite switched and Purdy now claims a slot on the NFC Pro Bowl roster.
As far as the quarterback rankings for the AFC, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa seems to have a continuous edge over Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud.
Putting their quarterbacks aside, the Dolphins and 49ers have quite a bit of representation so far on the Pro Bowl voting polls. Raheem Mostert and Christian McCaffrey headline the running back category, while Alec Ingold and Kyle Juszczyk have claimed the top spot so far for fullbacks in the voting standings.
However, the Cowboys are making an impression as well. Receiver CeeDee Lamb, linebacker Micah Parsons and cornerback DaRon Bland are keeping their names in the running among voters.
The deadline for fans to enter votes for the deserving Pro Bowlers closes on Dec. 25.
