Taylor Swift ‘Marries’ Travis Kelce?! Cowboys Ex Tony Romo Reveals Chiefs ‘Joke’
FRISCO - Tony Romo did it time and time again this year, for reasons that no one watching his CBS work on Sundays could quite fathom.
The Dallas Cowboys ex QB, who to his credit has a personality all his own, developed a notable habit of saying that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are a married couple during his NFL broadcasts.
The first time he did it, it seems like he’d simply misspoke. But by the time late in the season when he went as far as to call Jason Kelce, Travis' brother and the Philadelphia Eagles center, Swift's “brother-in-law”?
There had to be a reason. A bizarre reason, but a reason nevertheless.
And now we know. Kinda.
'Wife' Taylor Swift? Is Romo Doing A Comedy Bit?
Did Romo know a secret that if true would have set the entertainment world (and maybe the NFL world) afire?
Nope. Romo is now explaining that it was all just a joke, and that he thinks of it as a funny way to talk about Swift and Travis' relationship.
"It's just a joke. It's just more fun," Romo said on Thursday.
What Did Taylor Swift Whisper to Tony Romo?
Nothing against Romo here - from his long stint in the center of the Cowboys locker room we’ve come to know and respect his personality - but … is this “joke” funny? And if so, to whom?
Maybe Tony and Travis, the Chiefs stellar tight end, have an inside laugh over this?
In any event, here’s a virtual guarantee: the pop icon Swift will be jetting from her concert in Japan to Las Vegas to watch in person Super Bowl LVIII between the Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
And Romo and Jim Nantz have the game on CBS … and Tony will surely unleash one more “marriage” joke on the puzzled American viewing public.
