'We Want The Ball In Dak Prescott's Hands!' 49ers Roast Dallas; Did Cowboys Quit? FISH PODCAST

FRISCO - Former NFL player Rodney Harrison made his pregame appearance on "Sunday Night Football'' in a way that has gone way under the radar ... a scathing evaluation of Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott that - if true - is the sort of thing that can certainly lead to the impression that the Cowboys are losing faith in their leader.

Harrison said he had engaged in conversations with assorted San Francisco 49ers defenders ahead of the prime-time showdown (that became a shutdown) Sunday at Levi’s Stadium that saw Dak's Cowboys lose, 42-10.

Harrison shared what one defender said was going to be the Niners' key to the victory. ...

“I had an opportunity to speak with a San Francisco 49er’s defender,'' Harrison said. "He told me, ‘We want to stop the run, make them one-dimensional, we want the ball in Dak Prescott’s hands,’ Wow!''

"Wow,'' especially, because that is largely what happened on Sunday, as chronicled by our own Mike Fisher of CowboysSI.com, who was on the scene and afterward on his Fish Podcast (listen here to "Did the Cowboys Quit?'') is noting that Dak has been unable to "lift'' his teammates in games like these - and certainly in three meetings against this specific Niners club.

Harrison offered some real insight before the game. The Fish Report - in video form below - does the same, we believe, after the game.

But then there was Dak. And there was the NBC telecast that painted a picture that was as off the mark as Harrison's take turned out to be on the mark.

In the broadcast, analyst Cris Collinsworth responded to the Harrison note by saying, "The only way (Dak) can stop that noise is to go out on that field right there and take care of these San Francisco 49ers. ...

"He’s fired up and ready to go,” asserted Collinsworth, who - while using "fired up'' in place of Dak's ballyhooed "pissed off'' - turned out to be completely wrong.
