Kansas City Chiefs Coach Andy Reid 'A Big Fan' of Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts
Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid said that he is "a big fan" of Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts ahead of their big matchup on at Arrowhead on Monday Night Football.
“I’m a big fan of his," Reid said. "He’s a really good football player. He can throw the ball. He can run the ball. ... He always seems to be in control.”
In 1999, the Eagles hired a fresh-faced, 41-year-old Reid to be the head coach of their football team. He would go on to lead them to a 130-93-1 record over the next 14 seasons, along with nine playoff appearances, six NFC East titles, five NFC championship games including four in a row at one point, and a Super Bowl appearance.

In 2012, it was decided that he was no longer the right fit for the team and Philadelphia let him walk to bring in its new head coach, Chip Kelly. Immediately, Reid found a new home in Kansas City, where he has spent the last 11 seasons, winning two Super Bowls with his star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Now, Reid and Hurts will be facing off for the just third time ever. In the first two meeting, the Eagles quarterback has gone 59 of 86 for 691 passing yards and three touchdowns while adding 117 yards and three touchdowns with his legs but has yet to win. This included a loss in last season's Super Bowl.
Hurts has been one of the best players in the NFL this season, accumulating 2,663 total yards and 22 total touchdowns while leading Philadelphia to a 8-1 record, the only one-loss team in the league.
The Eagles and Chiefs will battle at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday night at 8:15 p.m. ET.
