Eagles Select WR, Make Three Picks in Latest Two-Round NFL Mock Draft
The Philadelphia Eagles finished in the middle of the NFL pack in passing offense and defense on a per-play basis, but near the bottom of the league in per-game measurements this season.
Clearly, given the way the Eagles stalled in the regular season and were ultimately dispatched in the postseason, that isn't good enough.
Armed with that knowledge, Pro Football Focus set out to find improvements in that area on both sides of the ball in its latest two-round mock NFL Draft.
No. 22: OT Tyler Guyton, Oklahoma
The collegiate right tackle had a solid week of practices at the Reese's Senior Bowl and conveniently already has a connection to Philadelphia through his relationship with offensive tackle Lane Johnson.
“He started showing me love because he heard I was an up-and-coming right tackle,” Guyton said of Johnson. “We grew a connection from there. He’s a really cool dude. I saw him working out [at Oklahoma] and I went in there and took some sets with him and asked him some questions."
No. 50: CB Mike Sainristil, Michigan (From New Orleans Saints)
If you watched Michigan's run to the College Football Championship this season you likely saw Sainristil flashing at key times to help his team cement themselves as the best in the country.
Sainristil has experience across the defensive formation but does his best work in the slot.
No. 54: WR Ja’Lynn Polk, Washington
Polk showed his versatility with the Huskies lining up in the slot and out wide.
He had his best-graded season of college football this year while dropping just four passes and bringing in 16 contested catches, ranking him in the top 16 in the nation.
Hurts, Lamb Take Trip Down Memory Lane at Pro Bowl
With a solid addition to their aging offensive line, the Eagles would do a service to quarterback Jalen Hurts' future by combining that pick with the onboarding of another receiver threat to complement stars A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
The addition of a versatile cornerback would be a wise move toward returning the Philadelphia defense to a true contending unit.
