Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown Passes Calvin Johnson, Stands Alone in NFL Record Book

LANDOVER, MD. - A.J. Brown now stands alone in NFL history.

The Philadelphia Eagles receiver latched onto a 17-yard completion in the final quarter that put him at 129 yards receiving during Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders at FedEx Field.

Never before had a receiver ever had 125 or more yards in six straight games. Brown now has.

He had been tied with Calvin Johnson (2012) and Pat Studstill (1966) as the only two receivers to do it.

Brown had eight catches on eight targets for 130 yards and two highlight-reel touchdowns as the Eagles moved to 7-1 with a come-from-behind 38-31 win.

The Dallas Cowboys will visit Lincoln Financial Field next Sunday in a battle between the two top teams in the NFC East.

His first came when he somehow managed to get his feet in bounds in the end zone for a 16-yard score with 28 seconds to go in the second half. His second catch inside the five, where he snaked his way through a pair of defenders and crossed the goal line.

The play covered 25 yards and came with 4:22 to go in the third quarter and pulled the Eagles into a 17-17 tie.

Brown's record-setting catch helped put the Eagles in position to take their first lead of the game on a 38-yard TD catch by DeVonta Smith. the score gave Philly a 31-24 lead.

Quarterback Jalen Hurt also shined on the day, completing 29 of 38 passes for 319 yards and four touchdowns. He had a passer rating of 135.7.

Brown's streak began in Week 3 with a 131-yard outburst against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

From there it looked like this:

175 vs. the Commanders.

127 vs. the Los Angeles Rams.

131 vs, the New York Jets.

137 vs. the Mami Dolphins.

Brown has 49 receptions and four touchdowns during the streak. 

For the season, he has 60 receptions for 939 yards and five touchdowns.
