Patrick Mahomes? 'Good Actor!' Eagles' Brandon Graham Speaks Out on Super Bowl Turf, Chiefs QB Injury

In a recent podcast appearance, Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham reflected on his experience in Super Bowl LVII
In this story:

Defensive end Brandon Graham had a great chance to win his second ring in February, as his Philadelphia Eagles led the Kansas City Chiefs by 10 at halftime.

Unfortunately for him and the Eagles, the Chiefs stormed back in the second half and won the game 38-35 on a last-second field goal. Kansas City's offense, led by MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was exceptional in the second half as Philadelphia's usually-stingy defense had no answers.

One of the biggest narratives after the game was the quality of the field at State Farm Stadium, as players on both teams slipped multiple times. While not using it as an excuse, Graham believes the poor field quality benefited the Chiefs' offense.

"I'm telling you, that O-line, boy, they got blessed. I'll say that," Graham said on JAKIB Sports' "Sports Take" podcast. "When we looked at the film, there was a couple of times where if Sweaty (defensive end Josh Sweat) don't slip, boy, strip-sack. Especially that first drive, that first drive where he threw it across the middle to (Travis) Kelce. He was right there, man, he slipped. We could not believe it.

"When we looked at the film, when I finally looked at it like, man, oh man. We gonna get that on the get-back. It's coming back. That's coming back but, like I said, credit to Kansas City -- it's all love. Them boys, they played, too."

Additionally, Graham commented on one of the game's other major storylines, Mahomes' ankle injury. The Chiefs star first suffered the injury in the Divisional Round game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but re-aggravated it just before halftime of the Super Bowl. However, Graham believes that Mahomes may have exaggerated the severity of his injury.

"(Patrick) went in there on the sideline (and) he's looking like he's hurt. Get him, we gotta get to him. And he came out, you can tell how tough he is but that boy acted good," Graham said. "He sure put that face up like (he was hurting)."

Graham seems to be at relative peace with the end result of Super Bowl LVII, but there's no doubt it still weighs on him and the rest of the Eagles.
