Eagles Ex C.J. Gardner-Johnson Injury: OUT for Lions Season?

Eagles ex C.J. Gardner-Johnson's status for the remainder of the season seems to be up in the air following him sustaining a torn pec while playing for the Lions.
In this story:

The Detroit Lions obviously feel like they are building something - changing the "culture,'' as safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson has said.

But now Gardner-Johnson - who jumped to the Lions by signing a one-year, $6.5 million deal after helping the Philadelphia Eagles to their Super Bowl run - might not be a part of things in Detroit after all.

Gardner-Johnson's status for the remainder of the season seems to be up in the air following him sustaining a torn pec on Sunday in a Week 2 loss against the Seattle Seahawks, according to NFL Network.

"Lions DB CJ Gardner-Johnson is feared to have suffered a a torn pec in Sunday’s game.'' NFL Network said. "The playmaker had been a big part of Detroit’s defense. Now out indefinitely, potentially for the season."

Gardner-Johnson's efforts to change the culture in Detroit manifested itself in his encouraging Lions fans to wear blue ski masks for the home opener, the idea being that the Lions are the "villains.'' The idea worked in terms of the fans joining in - "Honolulu blue ski masks'' were literally sold out on Amazon - though in the end, the Seahawks won the game, 37-31 in OT. (And of course mocked the Lions for their gimmick.)

But long-term? C.J. is an impact player, as he established in Philly. And now the 1-1 Lions - who upset the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1 - will host the 2-0 Atlanta Falcons at Ford Field in Week 3, and they'll do so without him.
