'Ruthless!' Seahawks Troll Lions With 'Blue Ski Masks' - and OT Win

The Lions' culture has changed for the better. But the Seattle Seahawks culture, bouncing back after a Week 1 upset loss to the Rams, must be pretty solid as well - complete with a ski-mask trolling of Detroit.
In this story:

The Detroit Lions wanted to play the "villains,'' complete with robber-like ski masks. But it was the Seattle Seahawks who stole the game, spoiling the Lions' home opener on Sunday with a 37-31 overtime victory in Detroit ... complete with a troll job of the Lions' "ruthless'' ski mask plan.

To win the game, it was Seattle QB Geno Smith finding Tyler Lockett for a six-yard touchdown in OT to push both teams' record to 1-1. And immediately after the score at Ford Field - packed with fans wearing blue ski mask as urged by Lions cornerback C.J. Gardner-Johnson - it was Seattle going "masked.''

Seahawks safety Jerrick Reed II somehow gained acquisition of a Honolulu blue ski mask, and trolled the Lions and all of Detroit by wearing it on the field and then in the celebratory locker room.

The background here? Gardner-Johnson challenged the Detroit fans to wear ski masks to the game Sunday to back up the "villainous" and "ruthless'' vibe he was pushing for. that the Lions were going for.

"From what I’ve seen, we got probably the most ruthless fans in the game," Gardner-Johnson said this week "From talking crap, they feed off of us. ... We're villains, right? It's part of us, it’s just the culture, I’m changing it. We taking what's ours."

The Lions' culture has changed for the better, no doubt. But the Seahawks culture, bouncing back after a Week 1 upset loss to the Rams, must be pretty solid as well.
