Philadelphia Eagles' Darius Slay Says A.J. Brown is Second-Best WR; Who's No. 1?

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay said that A.J. Brown is the No. 2 receiver in football.
In this story:

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay had high praise for teammate and receiver A.J. Brown, but that praise is limited to second place. Slay thinks Brown is the second-best receiver in the NFL, behind only Miami Dolphins star speedster Tyreek Hill.

"He for sure is the second best receiver in the league right now," Slay said via Big Play Slay. "You can say what you want, and argue with your mama, A.J. Swole Batman is top two right now, I gotta give it to Cheetah at number one. But A.J. for sure is number two right now, and I'm talking about putting on a clinic. Deep ball, short routes, medium routes, every route he's running on the route tree, he's making it work man he does it all. A lot of guys can't run every route like A.J. can. So that's why he's definitely at my number two right now, playing at an elite, elite level."

Slay citing Hill as the best receiver in football right now is understandable given the numbers he is producing. Through seven games, Hill has turned 53 receptions into 902 yards and seven touchdowns.

Brown isn't too far behind Hill though, recording 52 catches for 809 yards and three touchdowns. The Eagles' receiver has recorded five-straight games of over 125 yards, only the second player ever to do that outside of Calvin Johnson in 2012, who also had five.

In Week 7 against the Miami Dolphins, Brown recorded 10 catches for 137 yards and a touchdown, outplaying Hill who had 11 catches for 88 yards and a touchdown. For his performance on Sunday Night Football, Brown was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week, the first time he's been named player of the week at any point in his career.

Next up for Philadelphia and Brown is an away game against the Washington Commanders on Sunday at 1 p.m.
