Eagles Among Highest in Dead Cap Space for 2023

The Philadelphia Eagles will carry north of $50 million in dead cap space in 2023.
In this story:

While Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is considered one of the best salary cap manipulators in the sport, his team will carry one of the highest amounts of dead cap space in the NFL in 2023.

According to Over The Cap, the Eagles are currently slated to have $54.73 million in dead cap space in 2023. The only teams in the sport that will have higher amounts of dead money this upcoming season are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($75.32 million), Los Angeles Rams ($74.23 million) and the Green Bay Packers ($57.14 million).

Here are the 10 players who combine to make up that $54.73 million in dead cap space, the majority of whom are no longer on the Eagles:

- Fletcher Cox, DT: $15.36 million

- Javon Hargrave, DT: $11.96 million

- Brandon Brooks, RG: $9.8 million

- Isaac Seumalo, RG: $7.53 million

- James Bradberry, CB: $4.97 million

- Jalen Reagor, WR: $1.8 million

- Kyzir White, S: $1.17 million

- Anthony Harris, S: $997, 412

- T.J. Edwards, LB: $711,000

- Davion Taylor, LB: $208,073

Even as one of the teams with the highest amounts of dead cap space, the Eagles still have $13.85 million in cap space to work with. That's more cap space than 15 other teams have, including the division-rival Washington Commanders ($11.57 million) and New York Giants ($3.82 million).
