Eagles Ex Arrested For DUI On Las Vegas Strip During Super Bowl Week

Philadelphia Eagles Ex Janarius Robinson Arrested For DUI On Las Vegas Strip During Super Bowl Week

LAS VEGAS - It is sad. But it is true. In the least-surprising news of this early Super Bowl Week here in Las Vegas, an NFL player is in trouble - and it's a former Philadelphia Eagles player in the negative spotlight.

Edge rusher Janarius Robinson was arrested on the Las Vegas Strip early on Tuesday morning and charged with a DUI, according to reports here in "Sin City.''

As it happens, Robinson, 24, who played for the Eagles in 2022, now plays for the Raiders here in Vegas - so it can be argued he should know the lay of the land here ... meaning he should be well-versed in ways to avoid trouble.

Alas, while the arrest didn't involve a member of the San Francisco 49ers or the Kansas City Chiefs, the two squads playing in Sunday's Super Bowl, and while Robinson (who started his NFL career with the Vikings as a fourth-round pick out of Florida State) isn't high-profile ...

It is still a black eye for the NFL.

The league has pushed hard to make sure its players don't involved themselves in gambling trouble while they are here. But the NFL shouldn't have to tell players to avoid getting charged with DUIs, and not just because of the resulting negative publicity.

In fact, the league already has its hands full in this regard with the sad story of Patrick Mahomes Sr. having been arrested - again - for yet another DWI back in Texas ... with the judge granting him bail that figures to allow the father of the Chiefs star QB to come to Vegas for the big game. ...

And to hopefully call an Uber.
