Eagles Free Agency Grades: 'Crushed' by Losses - But Not by Cowboys?

The Philadelphia Eagles have lost many key players in free agency. What grade does that give them for the offseason so far?
In this story:

Fewer teams have had it more difficult in this free agency period than the Philadelphia Eagles.

Several members from their Super Bowl team have said goodbye, including running back Miles Sanders, defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson, linebacker T.J. Edwards, and offensive lineman Isaac Seumalo.

With the Eagles' numerous losses, Sports Illustrated has issued them a "C" in their free agency grades so far.

"Tough to crush the Eagles, who understood they were going to lose guys after this season," SI writes. "The problem is how many ended up leaving. Philadelphia watched as seven starters left, and in some cases on reasonable deals it could have potentially matched. Still, the Eagles are deep enough to withstand some of these departures while still owning two first-round picks (Nos. 10, 30)."

(Philly fans will be happy to know that the Dallas Cowboys also received a modest "C'' grade.''

Not all has been bad for the Eagles, though. Philadelphia was able to retain star cornerback Darius Slay and Pro Bowl defensive tackle Fletcher Cox. The team was also able to re-sign longtime center Jason Kelce to anchor the offensive line among other moves.

The core of this past year's great Eagles team is still in Philadelphia and the team has a lot of potential to rebound from their unfortunate free agency period with a strong draft that awards them four top-100 picks.
