Eagles' Howie Roseman Praises Justin Evans: 'Good Physical Tools!'
The Philadelphia Eagles have had their first look at their offseason additions during training camp, and certain individuals have already begun to make an impression.
Among this group of players is safety Justin Evans, who signed a 1-year contract with the Eagles during free agency. Despite having been a member of the team for only a short period of time, he has already begun to impress people within Philadelphia's organization, including general manager Howie Roseman, who praised the safety for his attitude towards football.
"We know that this is a guy whose got really good physical tools. We like having him on the team. He loves football. He has great energy about him. We're excited to see what he is going to do in an Eagles uniform," Roseman said.
The 2017 second-round pick began his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and became a solid contributor in his first two years with the team. However, in 2019, he missed the entire season with a torn Achilles tendon and then spent all of 2020 rehabbing the injury. After sitting out of football for the entire 2021 season, he became a member of the New Orleans Saints last year and carved out a role on defense, recording 29 tackles in 15 games.
Now, he will look to carry over the success he found with New Orleans to Philadelphia and will have his first chance to make an impact for the Eagles on Sept. 10th when the team travels to face the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium.
