Eagles Hosting Inaugural Brazil Game, Kickoff Date Revealed
The Philadelphia Eagles are being handed the opportunity to make NFL history next season.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced Monday that the Eagles will be the host team for the league's inaugural Brazil game in the country's largest city, São Paulo. The game will take place at Corinthians Arena.
The game will be played on Friday of opening weekend next season, meaning the Eagles will likely be kicking off their Week 1 game on Sept. 6 or Sept. 13. It will also count as a home game for Philadelphia.
“This landmark first international game in South America demonstrates the ongoing expansion of our global footprint," said Goodell. “Playing on Friday night of Week 1 is a unique way to highlight our international growth and ambitions."
The Eagles tweeted out their own official announcement, saying "First-ever NFL game in South America. Brazil, we’ll see you soon!"
