Philadelphia Eagles' Jalen Carter Credits Fans With Helping Defense On The Road
Philadelphia Eagles rookie defensive lineman Jalen Carter had a huge game in Sunday’s 23-14 win over the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium, but it wasn't without a little bit of help from Eagles fans.
"We had really learned their snap," Carter said. "We had a lot of fans out there so it was loud so they had a little hand movement on the snap. It was really like the second time they threw it, is when they were gonna snap it and I use that as a point and I use that to get off faster."
Carter ate against the Rams offensive line, collecting four tackles, two of which were solo, two sacks and two tackles for loss. His monster game brought his season totals to 12 tackles, 3.5 sacks and four tackles for loss.
"The fans helped for sure," Carter said. "Eagles fans help every week. It's always packed, away games, home games, whatever."
Philadelphia's defense shut down Los Angeles down the stretch, pitching a shutout for the entirety of the second half. The Rams came into the game averaging 392.75 total yards of offense per game and the Eagles held them to just 249 total yards, which was their lowest mark on the season. The 14 points that they scored in the loss was also their lowest for the year so far
SoFi Stadium was full on Sunday, with a listed attendance of 74,935 for a sellout. However, judging by the way the crowd sounded throughout the game, a large chunk of the fans in attendance and perhaps a majority of the fans were cheering on Philadelphia.
The undefeated Eagles will play in their fourth away game of the season next week against Zach Wilson and the New York Jets on Oct. 15 at 4:25 p.m.
