Philadelphia Eagles OG Landon Dickerson Undergoing Surgery
Philadelphia Eagles offensive guard Landon Dickerson is undergoing thumb surgery on Wednesday, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
"Eagles G Landon Dickerson is undergoing surgery on his thumb today, sources say. He is expected to miss minimal time and won’t be placed on IR," Garafolo tweeted.
Dickerson, 25, was a second-round pick by the Eagles in the 2021 draft. While it's good news for Philly he won't be placed on IR, Dickerson's injury could allow rookie offensive lineman Tyler Steen to step in and gain some more experience. Of course, it remains to be seen if Steen or Sua Opeta will occupy that left guard spot. Right guard Cam Jurgens is also still dealing with a pec injury that kept him out of Monday night's crushing 20-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Regardless, an Eagles offense that's already struggled to find its grove amid a three-game losing streak can't afford to lose any bodies up front.
Eagles center Jason Kelce voiced these frustrations prior to Monday night's loss.

"There's a lot more to correct in losses like these and we just gotta go back to work," Kelce said. " ... We just didn't play up to the standard. We've played a lot of high-profile games here before and executed well," Kelce said. "I don't think it's the magnitude, I mean these are good teams and you can't make mistakes against good teams. We've done far too much of that."
The Eagles will have to figure out what their front five will look like ahead of Monday's meeting with the New York Giants on Christmas Day.
