Philadelphia Eagles Outclassed by Dallas Cowboys, Blown Out Again

The Philadelphia Eagles have been out-scored 75-32 in their last two games after Sunday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

The Philadelphia Eagles have now been outclassed by the NFC's elite in back-to-back weeks after Sunday's latest blowout loss.

The Eagles (10-3) never led and never appeared competitive in a 33-13 loss to the Dallas Cowboys (10-3) at AT&T Stadium, dropping their second straight game after Week 13's 23-point loss to the red-hot San Francisco 49ers,

The loss now ties Philly and Dallas atop the NFC East, though the Eagles still hold the tiebreaker.

Philadelphia scored a season-low 13 points, as quarterback Jalen Hurts finished 18 of 27 passing for 197 yards and no touchdowns.

He lost a fumble right outside the red zone on Philly's first possession, which set a theme for the night. The Eagles lost three fumbles, all of which came in plus territory that halted promising scoring drives.

Eagles receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith were responsible for the other two fumbles. Smith's giveaway essentially sealed Philly's fate after he got stripped of the ball at the Dallas 12-yard line with 6:38 left in the fourth.

The Eagles defense got gashed early, but did its part in the second half by holding Dallas out of the end zone and getting a 42-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown from rookie Jalen Carter in the third quarter. However, Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey nailed three of his four field goals in the second half to help give Dallas a comfortable cushion for the majority of the final two quarters.

The Philly offense couldn't muster any points in the final two quarters, as it was Carter's scoop-and-score that wound up being the Eagles' only touchdown of the night.

Luckily, the Eagles still control their own destiny despite back-to-back blowout losses, but as Philly showed in their Week 6 loss to the New York Jets, a win will hardly be guaranteed in matchups with the Arizona Cardinals (3-10) in Week 17 and New York Giants (4-8) in Weeks 16 and 18.

However, the Eagles will need to step up on offense headed into their toughest test left in the regular season when they visit the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field next Monday night.
