Eagles Win Projections; Can Philly Top Cowboys in NFL Standings?

ESPN projected the entire 2023 NFL season, and has the Philadelphia Eagles coming out as one of the top teams in the league standings.
In this story:

Coming off a Super Bowl appearance, the Philadelphia Eagles are understandably one of the top teams in the NFL this season in terms of projections.

So it's no surprise they are projected to be one of the top three teams in the league this year after ESPN laid out its expectations for the season recently.

In the sites projections, Philadelphia figures to win 11.1 games this season, coming in just behind the Buffalo Bills (11.6) and the Kansas City Chiefs (11.7).

While the Eagles seem to have not done enough to pass the Bills in preseason hype, they stand atop the NFC with the second-place Dallas Cowboys projected to win 10.6 games and the San Francisco 49ers projected to win 10.5 games.

Elsewhere in the NFC East Division, which had no losing-record teams last season, gets two this year, with the New York Giants falling back to 8-9 and the Washington Commanders pulling up the rear at 5-12.

Within these projections, ESPN grades Philadelphia's quarterback room led by Jalen Hurts a 3.6 out of 4.0, one of the best grades in the league.

But what's holding the Eagles back from climbing the NFL standings even more? Per ESPN, the low-graded running back, off-ball linebacker, and safety groups. Each of those units grades lower than 1.5 on the same scale.

For fantasy football purposes Hurts is QB3 while receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are both top-15 in their position groups.

Adding any of the three could help Philadelphia fans rise up the standings of their fantasy leagues. ... Even if they don't quite get the Eagles to the top of the NFL's regular-season records.
