Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts After Win vs. Dallas Cowboys: 'I'll Do Anything For This City'
After Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts gutted out a 28-23 win over the Dallas Cowboys despite dealing with an injury, he expressed his love for the city.
"I don't like it being that way," Hurts said. "I love to be all good but as I said, I'll do anything for this city and for my teammates. It takes what it takes and that's, simply put, whatever it takes. I'm just happy that we were able to gut out this win and we showed so much resilience."
Hurts showed out against the Cowboys, going 17 of 23 for 207 yards and two touchdowns while adding 36 yards and a touchdown with his legs.
The win moved him to 25-2 in his last 27 regular season starts, a feat that only Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Joe Montana and Jim McMahon have accomplished since 1950.
The 25-year-old quarterback already came into the game dealing with a lingering bone bruise in his knee. Then, near the end of the first half, he took a big hit from Micah Parsons which sent him limping into the locker room at halftime.
Despite the injury, Hurts came back out for the second half and immediately went to work. He led the Eagles on a six-play, 60-yard touchdown drive to open the half that ended with a 29-yard touchdown pass to DeVonta Smith.
Luckily for Hurts, the Eagles have a bye week coming up for the team to rest and get healthy before a Monday Night Football matchup in two weeks with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Super Bowl rematch will be on Nov. 20 at 8:15 p.m in Kansas City.
