Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts Maintains Unwavering Focus on 'The Main Thing'

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has never strayed from his messaging this season.
In this story:

Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts is 10-1 and an MVP candidate, but through it all, he tries to stay focused on the main thing, an idea that he and other members of the organization have stressed heavily this year.

"I just truly try to be in the moment, embrace the moment, and enjoy the moment, Hurts said. "I'm sorry if you don't think I find enjoyment in the moments, because I do. You have different things that go on in the game, you have different things that you need to be able to handle and approach appropriately. You just never wanna get too high, or get too low, that's just how I've always approached it. Just continue to keep your focus on the main thing."

Often times, members of the Eagles such as head coach Nick Sirianni or center Jason Kelce have talked about the main thing being winning, or going 1-0 each week. However, no one has seemed more focused on that goal than Hurts, who is often shown on the sideline with a stoic face, no matter what is happening on the field.

After Philadelphia's heartbreaking loss in the Super Bowl last season to the Kansas City Chiefs on a game-winning field goal, the Eagles have had a very business-like attitude towards each game this season. It's as if every opponent is simply an obstacle in their path to redemption.

The biggest obstacle Philadelphia faces all year might be coming up this week, as it hosts the 8-3 San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET in a rematch of last year's NFC Championship Game.
