Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts Talks Tush Push: 'No Thoughts!'

Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts spoke about the team's signature play, the 'Tush Push.'

Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts was asked to share his thoughts on some of the people calling to ban the team's signature play, the "Tush Push."

"I have no thoughts on it," Hurts said. "We're the only people doing it as well as we are. There was a guy who even wanted me hurt for it, too."

There have been calls since last season to ban the play, which is legal for every team in the NFL to use, but most choose not to. The Eagles used the play 41 times in 2022 on short yardage situations like 3rd-and-1 or 4th-and-1 or on the goal line. They converted a first down or a touchdown on 37 out of the 41 times they ran the play.

Hurts and Philadelphia ran the play multiple times against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, failing to convert a couple times. When they wouldn't convert the first time, they would run the play again and always got it the second time. Hurts scored a one-yard rushing touchdown on the Tush Push in the 25-11 win over the Buccaneers on Monday Night Football.

The play was up for discussion in the offseason but there was not enough support to get it on to the ballot for the NFL league meeting.

Some fans have gotten so upset at the inability of their teams to stop the play that they have begun calling for players to intentionally injure Hurts. One Barstool employee said he wished someone would take Hurts out for the good of the game.

The Eagles will be back in action next week on Oct. 1 at 1 p.m. when they host the Washington Commanders at Lincoln Financial Field.
