Fantasy Football Tiers: Where Does Eagles TE Dallas Goedert Rank?
August means it's fantasy football drafting season for a lot of Philadelphia Eagles fans.
While you'll undoubtedly be targeting your favorite Eagles players, the trick is getting them for fair value in a spot you won't feel buyer's remorse about later on.
For tight end Dallas Goedert, NFL.com's position group fantasy football rankings say he should be the sixth player off the board.
Joining Goedert in Tier 3 are tight ends Kyle Pitts of the Atlanta Falcons, Pat Freiermuth of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Darren Waller of the New York Giants, Dalton Schultz of the Houston Texans, and Evan Engram of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Last season Goedert brought in 55 passes for 702 yards and three touchdowns, and while none of those were career highs that production ranked him 10th among all NFL tight ends in standard fantasy scoring according to Fantasy Pros.
Not bad considering the tight end played in just 12 games due to injuries.
Healthy again, the Eagles will be looking to reintroduce their tight end as a critical part of the offense in search of another trip to the Super Bowl.
For fantasy players eyeing Goedert, that championship motivation could produce wins for you.
Currently, Fantasy Pros has Goedert a tad higher in its rankings than NFL.com does putting him fifth on their list.
The sixth-year tight end is getting drafted in the 60-70 pick range of most mock drafts these days meaning Philadelphia fans looking to nab this player will need to do so shortly after the beginning of the fifth round in 12-team draft formats.
Only four tight ends made the grade to land in the top two tiers, with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce landing in Tier 1 all by himself.
Mark Andrews (Baltimore Ravens), T.J. Hockenson (Minnesota Vikings), and George Kittle (San Francisco 49ers) fill in the gaps between Kelce and the top of Tier 3.
