Jonathan Taylor at Eagles Practice; Colts RB on Philly's Trade Radar?

Star running back Jonathan Taylor is in Philly for joint practices with the Indianapolis Colts, but the Philadelphia Eagles seem confident they don't need to trade for him to make another Super Bowl run.
In this story:

Disgruntled star running back Jonathan Taylor showed up at Philadelphia Eagles practice Tuesday morning. But, for the time being, he isn't showing up on their radar.

In the wake of losing Miles Sanders to the Carolina Panthers in free agency, the Eagles were in the market for a No. 1 running back last offseason. After all, they had to replace Sanders' 15 starts, 1,269 rushing yards and 13 combined touchdowns that helped him to the Pro Bowl and Philly to the Super Bowl.

They signed former Seattle Seahawk Rashaad Penny, but knew that wasn't the lone solution to the problem. Enter Day 3 of the NFL Draft, and a trade with the Detroit Lions that landed them D'Andre Swift. The Lions drafted Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs 12th overall, so Swift - coming off an injury-riddled 2022 - was expendable.

With Swift, Penny, Kenny Gainwell, Trey Sermon and change-of-pace, third-down specialist Boston Scott, the Eagles are now convinced they have enough in the backfield behind quarterback Jalen Hurts to make another Super Bowl run.

As good as he is, the 24-year-old Taylor doesn't seem to be in the mix as a possibility in Philly.

The Indianapolis Colts, who are in town holding joint practices with the Eagles ahead of Thursday's preseason finale, haven't directly said they are trading Taylor - who is holding out of training camp while seeking a contract extension - but have given him permission to seek a trade.

The Eagles don't even show up on the list of team given the best odds of being Taylor's next landing spot. The leading contenders, according to Las Vegas oddsmakers, are the Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Buffalo Bills.
