It’s official. Former Atlanta Falcons coach Arthur Smith has a new job as the Pittsburgh Steelers are hiring Smith to become that team's offensive coordinator.

Also official. Falcons fans will eventually get a first-hand look at how Smith is doing following his Atlanta firing …

As the Steelers are scheduled to visit Atlanta next year.

Smith served as the Falcons coach for the last three seasons, compiling a 21-30 record. The Falcons have hired Raheem Morris as his replacement. 

Smith comes from an offensive background, having previously been the offensive coordinator of the Tennessee Titans and having success there before coming to Atlanta.

Smith received criticism here for underutilizing key skill players such tight end Kyle Pitts and running back Bijan Robinson.

The Steelers will be his chance to remake his reputation while working under head coach Mike Tomlin … and yes, will be circle a TBD date on the calendar as the Falcons will host the Steelers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium at some point in 2024.
