Falcons RB Bijan Robinson on Fantasy Football Draft Stock: 'I Gotta Prove Everything First'
Despite never having played a snap in the NFL, Atlanta Falcons rookie running back Bijan Robinson has already been anointed as one of the top players in fantasy football for the upcoming 2023 season. The buzz surrounding Robinson is undoubtedly reaching his ears as the hype surrounding him continues to grow.
During a recent appearance on Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill's podcast, "It Needed to Be Said," Robinson was asked about his potential as a top-eight pick in fantasy football. In response, the rookie humbly acknowledged that while he appreciates being considered among the top players, he recognizes that he has yet to prove himself in the NFL.
"People are telling me like they are picking me number one," Robinson said. "I'm like, thank you, but I gotta prove everything first."
With an incredible three-year career at Texas, where Robinson accumulated an impressive 3,410 rushing yards and scored 33 touchdowns, there is every reason to be thrilled about the potential he brings to the Falcons offense. As a rookie, he has a clear opportunity to establish himself as a workhorse back, given the team's current landscape.
Falcons head coach Arthur Smith has a track record of transforming running backs into fantasy football superstars. A prime example is his time as the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans in 2020, where he played a crucial role in Derrick Henry's extraordinary fantasy season. Under Smith's guidance, Henry amassed a historic 2,027 rushing yards and recorded a career-high 17 touchdowns.
Considering Robinson's rookie status, it's understandable that there may be some uncertainty. However, the current situation he finds himself in should undoubtedly excite fans about his potential value for the upcoming 2023 fantasy football season.
