Eagles' Jalen Carter Jealous of Falcons' Bijan Robinson?
The NFL offseason is a thing of the past, and a new future awaits the Atlanta Falcons and their rookie running back Bijan Robinson, who's already caught the attention of fellow top 10 pick, defensive tackle Jalen Carter of the Philadelphia Eagles.
"I just seen Bijan Robinson get an 81, and he's the highest-rated rookie," Carter said in a recent exclusive interview with EaglesToday.com at SI. "I'm a 79. Imma be chill, but I wish I was the highest-rated."
EA Sports has released an annual version of its popular Madden video game since 1990, over a decade before Robinson or Carter were born. As such, a longstanding staple football representation in video games, it should come as no surprise that many rookies care about how highly they're rated.
Although Carter was drafted a pick after Robinson, the former Georgia Bulldogs standout's objection to being anything other than the top-rated rookie entering the league is understandable, considering that he was the highest-graded prospect by the NFL in the 2023 Draft.
Carter's NFL Draft Profile rated him as a Pro Bowl talent from day one, scoring a 7.05 (.21 points higher than Robinson's 6.84). Who proves to be the more successful is anyone's guess, but both seemingly landed in terrific spots to showcase their strengths.
In Atlanta, Robinson should feast thanks to the Falcons' run-heavy attack and strong blocking up front. Meanwhile, Carter is with the reigning NFC Champs, whose defense had 70 sacks last season, becoming just the fourth team ever to reach 70 or more sacks in a season and the first since 1989.
Of course, whether or not Robinson and Carter prove to be stars remains an unknown, but now that training camp has begun, each can begin their pursuit of success at the professional level.
