Falcons OL Matt Hennessy Signs with Eagles; Jason Kelce Replacement?
Atlanta Falcons offensive lineman Matt Hennessy has a new home.
According to PHLY's Zach Berman, the Philadelphia Eagles are signing Hennessy to a new deal.
Hennessy, 26, suffered a leg injury in training camp and did not play in the 2023 season for the Falcons.
A third-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Hennessy started all 17 games in 2021 but was limited to just 11 games in 2022.
With the Falcons' left guard woes, Atlanta traded up to select Matthew Bergeron with the No. 38 pick in last year's NFL Draft. Bergeron played well and secured the left guard spot moving forward, negating a need to bring back Hennessy.
The Eagles are in need of offensive line help after Jason Kelce retired last week. While Hennessy isn't a guarantee to plug and play, there's potential for him to be his replacement.
Hennessy has experience playing both guard and center, and he could be in the mix to compete for the starting center job during the offseason.

The move also marks a return to Philadelphia, the city where Hennessy played his college ball. Perhaps moving back to Philly will be a rejuvenation of sorts for Hennessy.
Hennessy's contract cannot become official until the new league year begins tomorrow at 4 p.m. ET.
