NFL Top 100: Falcons DT Grady Jarrett Makes The Cut
Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Grady Jarrett was voted one of the top 100 players by his peers.
"His numbers were down last season, but he's still a force in the inside for the Falcons," CBS Sports writes. "He needs more help around him."
Despite his number being “down,” Jarrett actually had one of his best seasons to date, but he didn’t receive Pro Bowl honors for his efforts, which CBA must've taken notice of as they named him the No. 89 best player.
He had the most pass deflections of his career (3), second most tackles for loss in his career (12), second most quarterback hits of his career (17), tied for the second most combined tackles of his career (61), and tied for the second most sacks in his career (6).
Now entering his 30's, the veteran will hope to make the playoffs for the first time in six years.
This year the Falcons should be able to feast upon new starters in the NFC South. With all three divisional rivals featuring new starters at quarterback and likely needing time to gel on offense, it should allow the Atlanta defense to make a statement as early as Week 1 when they face off against rookie quarterback Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers in the season opener.
Alongside Jarrett on the Falcons' defense, top 100 list honorable mentions A.J. Terrell and Jessie Bates III will also be looking to prove that they’re still All-Pro caliber players in 2023.
