The Atlanta Falcons are just weeks away from training camp, and for many players, the chances of making the 53-man roster remain uncertain.

Receiver Penny Hart is among the players whose roster spot remains undetermined. After playing high school football at King's Ridge Christian School in Alpharetta, Georgia, and college football at Georgia State, Hart is now determined to complete a full circle in the Peach State by earning a spot on the Falcons' opening day roster.

Hart expressed through the team's official website that he signed with the Falcons' because he felt valued by the organization as a free agent and appreciated their culture.

"This organization showed me how much they appreciated my game from over the years and watching me," Hart said. "Seeing how hard everybody works here, that's my identity and that's what I do. "So, just knowing that I'd have the opportunity to be a part of this culture, it meant everything to me. I couldn't resist that."

Hart also mentioned that he sensed a shared mindset with his new head coach, Arthur Smith.

"I knew that he was a blue collar kinda guy, to where he likes to work," Hart said. "He likes the attitude of going out and making something of yourself and having to earn the respect of everybody around you. I really respected that in him when I first got here and when I was talking to him."

Hart found another aspect of Smith that resonated with him—the coach's system, which challenges both defenders and those executing the scheme, embracing discomfort in the process. A quality that aligns perfectly with Hart's mindset.

"I like that it's really fast paced. It's about getting it in and grinding," Hart said. "I think that it's an extremely versatile offense as well, and you can be in at any position at any given time and I think we do a really good job of doing that. It's exciting because that's what I love best. I say all the time that I am most comfortable when I am uncomfortable."

Hart will now need to prove his ability to handle Smith's scheme during training camp and preseason in his quest to make the Falcons' 53-man roster.
