Falcons OL Chris Lindstrom Reveals Big Purchase After Contract Extension

Following a hefty contract extension earlier this offseason, Atlanta Falcons right guard Chris Lindstrom shared his first big purchase when speaking to the media for the first time this spring.

Atlanta Falcons right guard Chris Lindstrom stood in front of the media Tuesday, much wealthier than the last time he did so at season's end.

To be exact, the 26-year-old Lindstrom has approximately $102 million more coming his way after signing a five-year contract extension that, when paired with his fifth-year rookie option, will keep him in Atlanta through the 2028 season.

It's a well-deserved mark for Lindstrom, who was a second-team All-Pro and the Falcons' lone Pro Bowler in 2022. In some cases, money can be a danger ... but it was never expected to be for Lindstrom, the team's Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee, and evidently hasn't been.

When asked if he's made any big purchases since signing his extension in March, the Dudley, Ma., native smiled and told all.

"I did buy a tractor; I bought a John Deere tractor," Lindstrom said, via The Athletic's Josh Kendall. "That's my fun thing to do, mow the lawn and plow. Put headphones in, there's not a better place in the world."

Lindstrom added that his tractor now holds the parking spot that was previously held by his truck, creating something of a dilemma but one he's nonetheless grateful for.

As for the deal itself, Lindstrom, a first-round pick in 2019, said it "doesn't feel real most of the time" and expressed gratitude to Falcons owner Arthur Blank.

"Super appreciative of it," said Lindstrom. "It’s life changing for my whole family, so incredibly grateful to the whole staff and Mr. Blank."

Since missing 11 games as a rookie, Lindstrom has started every game each of the past three seasons, developing into a staple both on and off the field.

Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot dubbed Lindstrom the "type of guy we want to build around," as he "embodies all of the characteristics and traits" Atlanta wants its program to look like.

A true difference-maker and foundational piece for the Falcons, Lindstrom's pay now reflects as such - as does his brand-new John Deere tractor.
