Falcons TE Kyle Pitts Reveals Major Injury News
The Atlanta Falcons have received some positive news as they approach the start of training camp in just eight days.
Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts shared an announcement on Instagram stating that he will not be placed on the "Physically Unable to Perform" (PUP) list. He posted a picture on his Instagram story with the caption: "Ain’t no PUP list for me lol.”
Pitts suffered a season-ending torn MCL in a Week 11 victory against the Chicago Bears last season. However, there has always been a positive outlook regarding his recovery and readiness for this year's training camp. Pitts has now confirmed that he will join his teammates on the field during training camp and be ready to roll once Week 1 comes around.
Staying healthy throughout the entirety of training camp holds significant importance for Pitts as it enables him to develop a strong relationship with second-year quarterback Desmond Ridder, who is entering his first full season as the team's starting signal caller. Since Ridder made his NFL debut last season in Week 15 while Pitts was rehabbing his torn MCL, the two never had the opportunity to share the field together. However, they now have the chance to work alongside each other in training camp.
As Pitts looks to get back to his 2021 form, where he caught 1,026 yards, he aims to put the 2022 season behind him, as he only caught 356 yards. The joint preparation of Ridder and Pitts will be essential in helping Pitts reach 1,000 yards for the second time in three years.
