Falcons RB Tyler Allgeier Taking Backseat to 'More Talented' Bijan Robinson?

The Atlanta Falcons are loaded at running back with Bijan Robinson, Tyler Allgeier and Cordarrelle Patterson ... so how do you divvy up production?
In this story:

The Atlanta Falcons have a surplus of running backs. Take returners Tyler Allgeier and Cordarrelle Patterson and throw in first-round pick Bijan Robinson, and there's no way to evenly distribute the rock.

So, someone has to take a lesser role in 2023, and Fansided predicts that's where Allgeier will find himself this fall.

"Bijan Robinson is a more talented and well-rounded back than Tyler Allgeier it is really that simple. Allgeier rushed for over 1,000 yards in his rookie season and helped to fuel an Atlanta offense that struggled to pass the ball," Fansided wrote.

And look, that's a blunt but apparent truth. While the Falcons already had two proven options at running back, the organization still chose to scoop up Robinson within the first 10 picks of the draft.

The dude has to be a game-changer at running back, otherwise picking him up and crowding the unit would be pointless. But what does all of this mean for Allgeier?

"One way the Falcons could opt to have Allgeier in the lineup more often is by using Patterson at receiver keeping the veteran on the field with Robinson and Allgeier sharing time in the backfield," Fansided said. "It is clear that Tyler's role is going to be lessened something that will help his career and perhaps the Falcons long term."

Until Patterson is moved to receiver or shipped from Atlanta and as long as Allgeier is still on the Falcons' roster, this team has three stud running backs. The rookie will likely be the bell cow, and it remains to be seen where the others will fall in past that.
