LOOK: Falcons Reveal Week 3 Uniforms vs. Lions
The Atlanta Falcons will wear their white uniform tops with black pants and black helmets for their Week 3 tilt against the Detroit Lions, the team announced on social media.
Week 3 will be the first road game for coach Arthur Smith's squad this season, and also the first time that the team's white uniform tops have been worn this season. The Falcons rocked their primary black uniform tops in a Week 1 win over the Carolina Panthers, before wearing their throwback black tops with red helmets in a narrow victory over the Green Bay Packers in Week 2.
With the Falcons wearing white uniform tops, the Lions will presumably counter with their "Honolulu blue" jerseys, though the team has yet to announce what look they will don in Week 3. The Lions do have gray alternate uniforms that they plan to wear with a new blue helmet on two occasions this season, but the first of those won't come until a Monday Night Football clash with the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8.
The Falcons -- one of three 2-0 teams in the NFC South currently -- will face their toughest test to date in Week 3. Beyond going on the road for the first time, the Lions are significantly better than the Panthers, and at least for the time being, probably superior to the Packers. The Lions will be looking to rebound from an overtime loss in Week 2 to the Seattle Seahawks, which followed an exciting season-opening win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1. Detroit is currently favored by three points over Atlanta in Week 3.
