NFL Draft: Falcons 'Desperately' Tried Trade Back Into Round 1 - Report

The Atlanta Falcons looked for a trade back into the first round of the NFL Draft last night, but came out unsuccessful.

The Atlanta Falcons made a splash by taking Texas running back Bijan Robinson with the No. 8 pick, but they also wanted a little more.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Falcons, Tennessee Titans and Las Vegas Raiders "desperately" sought trades back into the end of the first round. However, no deal came into fruition for any of those three teams.

It isn't confirmed who the Falcons were looking to take, but speculation may believe that Kentucky quarterback Will Levis could have been the apple of Atlanta's eye.

The Falcons, Titans and Raiders are all among the teams Levis visited during the pre-draft process, and the argument could be made for all of them to take a quarterback at some point during the draft.

All three teams have a solidified answer at quarterback if they don't take one, but none of these franchises have a franchise quarterback they feel comfortable with. The Falcons are happy with 2022 third-round pick Desmond Ridder, but it didn't stop Atlanta from meeting with Levis on a top-30 visit.

The Falcons currently hold the No. 44 pick in the second round, 12 spots away from the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are fielding trade calls as the team on the clock going into Friday night's second round.
