NFL Free Agency: Jets Ex Braxton Berrios to Falcons?

The Atlanta Falcons have the second-most cap space in the NFL going into free agency. Could part of that money be used to sign recently-cut New York Jets receiver Braxton Berrios?
In this story:

With NFL's free agency period starting in less than a week, several players are being cut as cap casualties.

The latest? New York Jets wide receiver Braxton Berrios, who was cut today according to ESPN.

Berrios, 27, has been a reliable gadget guy for the Jets in each of the past four seasons as a return specialist, runner and receiver.

This past season, Berrios caught 18 passes for 145 yards while also running the ball nine times for 91 yards and two touchdowns. He also returned 47 kicks and punts for the Jets throughout the season.

While the Atlanta Falcons may not need a return specialist with Cordarrelle Patterson already in-house, adding Berrios would give the offense another new dimension.

Berrios could allow the offense to run more creative plays and commit to running the football even more, something coach Arthur Smith would love to have.

As a sixth-round pick out of The University of Miami in 2018, Berrios is clearly respected as a locker room presence entering his sixth NFL season. Last year, Berrios signed a two-year, $12 million contract with the Jets and is being cut as a possible way to clear cap space for a potential Aaron Rodgers trade with the Green Bay Packers.

Maybe the Jets' trash could be the Falcons' treasure?
