NFL Mock Draft: Bijan Robinson to Falcons?

The Atlanta Falcons don't need Texas running back Bijan Robinson, but they may want him if he's there at No. 8.
In this story:

The Atlanta Falcons have been busy adding veterans to the defense this week.

First, the team traded for Detroit Lions cornerback Jeff Okudah. Then, the team signed Tennessee Titans pass rusher Bud Dupree.

Cornerback and pass rush were arguably the team's two biggest needs heading into the draft, but with short-term solutions for both of those positions, could that mean the Falcons are seeking someone else?

SI Draft Bible certainly believes so, selecting Texas Longhorns running back Bijan Robinson with the No. 8 overall pick.

"They led the league in rushing attempts (559) with a trio led by rookie Tyler Allgeier, receiver turned running back Cordarrelle Patterson and ex-Falcons quarterback Marcus Mariota," SI writes. "Robinson is another level of talent at the position. It might seem like an eternity since a running back cracked the top ten, but remember, Saquon Barkley went second overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. Robinson, along with Pitts and London, creates a dynamic young core of offensive weapons for second year quarterback Desmond Ridder to thrive."

Robinson doesn't exactly represent a need for the Falcons, but if he comes to Atlanta, it's because he's the best player available on the board.

Drafting Robinson would confirm the Falcons' status as one of the league's best rushing attacks and it would give rival teams something to gameplan against and worry about.

It may not be the biggest necessity for the Falcons, but it certainly would be a luxury.
