Giants vs Patriots: How to Watch, Odds, History and More

Let’s take a look at the Giants Week 12 matchup against the Patriots.

The New York Giants are looking to win their second consecutive game for the first time this season as they host the Patriots on Sunday. Coming off of a 31-19 win in Washington last week, spirits are high amongst the team despite their 3-8 record.

The Giants and Patriots, of course, have a storied history. The Giants defeated the Patriots twice before in the Super Bowl, but recent history doesn’t have this week’s matchup nearly as close in hype to those games of the past. The Patriots currently hold the third overall pick in April’s draft, while the Giants sit at pick five. Both are basically on their way to premium selections in the spring.

The Giants offense averages 13.5 points per game, dead last in the league. Who’s second to last? The Patriots, with 14.1 points per game. Both offenses have seen immense struggles this season, so this will not be an offensive display. On the other hand, both defenses have talent and play relatively well. The Giants' defense is coming off of a five-turnover performance in Washington last week and has to be licking their chops looking at Mac Jones and the Patriots offense.

A few familiar faces will be returning to MetLife on the opposite sideline. Safety Jabrill Peppers, who played for the Giants from 2019-2021, has become a staple for the Patriots' defense. Former Giants head coach Joe Judge will return as well. Finally, Bill Belichick, who won two Super Bowls in the 80s and 90s as the Giants’ defensive coordinator, will face one of his former teams.
