Giants Sign RB James Robinson to Training Camp Roster
The New York Giants have announced the signing of veteran running back James Robinson to their training camp roster.
The Jaguars signed Robinson, 5-foot-9 and 219 pounds, as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois State after the 2020 draft. During the 2021 season, Robinson tore his Achilles tendon in a Week 16 game against the Jets.
Robinson was traded to the Jets on October 25, 2022, the following year, for a conditional sixth-round pick after Jets running back Breece Hall suffered an ACL injury.
Earlier this year, Robisnon was with the Patriots, who signed him to a two-year, $8 million contract. He was released on June 12.

Robinson is entering his fifth NFL season. He's appeared in 39 games with 32 starts and has rushed for 2,262 yards on 514 carries and 18 touchdowns. He's also recorded 91 (out of 120) receptions for 617 yards and five touchdowns.
Robinson had his best season in 2020 with the Jaguars, when he rushed for 1,070 yards on 240 carries, his lone 1,000-yard rushing season to date. He also added 49 receptions (on 60 pass targets) for 344 yards with three touchdowns that season.
Giants running back Saquon Barkley is not expected to report to training camp next week when the veterans report on July 25. Barkley and the Giants failed to reach a long-term deal before the July 17 deadline, and the running back will have to play the upcoming season on the $10.1 million franchise tag.
